Starting my own WordPress blog and its basically just for a genre of music which can keep people up to date as there is a gap in the market for this. As I'm new to it all I may need some help along the way

My first question is..
If i was to start a free Wordpress Blog on their free host and start blogging could I swap to my own host and keep what I had blogged?

I appreciate all the help!

Yes you could. I don't see why you would need to, though, they give you 2.9Gb of free space. It would cost you too.

I already have a host which I use for a forum so can just use that one as it pays for its self its free and just believe it looks tidier and easier to remember a simple address like www.basslineblog.com rather than remebering where wordpress. goes. I was hoping you would reply as you are the blogger round here

I would guess at this not being the case with it all being based on open source. I think it'd probably be illegal for them unless they can charge for modifications. Besides, you should be able to extract all content via RSS if it came to it!

I have to say I've not properly looked into it as I'm happy with them hosting me. Plus you get added features and benefits for staying with.

One thing I would say is that it's a pretty confusing and complicated template, and that video doesn't and will never fit there. Maybe try to have a thicker header and title bar that could incorporate moving parts and a popular video or whatever. This would leave room below for emphasis on the actual blog.

Managed to fix the size of the video need to try and do the tag cloud now. Got pictures working for thumbnails and the slider par slowly updating things. Next bit to test is changing the footer to remove the Scarlett banner with my own! Any help and feedback is always appreciated.

Shown a few friends now and producers from that genre of music who actually have content about them on my blog and they are all reallly enthusiastic to work with me. One of them even said he would show the one of the BBC radio DJ's who DJ's this genre of music air as he believe its exactly what the scene needed
